Today´s post by: Kaitlyn Ehlers (in yellow), is a sophomore at Mizzou and will start in Mizzou´s Occupational Therapy program this summer. From Mountain Grove, Missouri, Kaitlyn is the Vice President of Inreach for the Lutheran Student Fellowship, a member of Kappa Delta Sorority, and plays on Mizzou´s club volleyball team. The following is an exerpt written by Kaitlyn about our Mission Trip thus far.

We woke up this morning and prepared for our day ahead, which included going to church, eating at a local restaurant, going to the beach, and preparing for our week. We attended church in La Joya; the people were very friendly, the service was a traditonal Lutheran service, and we were welcomed for our missions by the entire church.

After the service, we went to lunch at El Espigon. On the way there, we had a menu to look at to prepare ourselves for our upcoming fare.  Courtney decided she would branch out and try cow tongue; she was kind enough to share with everyone. Several members ordered  Pescado grande criollo, pictured below.

We grabbed our swimming gear and hit the beach!  Obviously, our pastey white skin attracted some attention, nonetheless, we still had a blast.

We ended the day with playing some catch, as seen at top. I decided to quit because I tried to catch a ball with my face, but Kevin noticed we had an audience and asked them to come play with us. They were so much fun to play with and helped me practice my spanish.

Our night was finished with practicing our skits for our mission presentation and a nightly devotion. I am so ready to start off our mission work tomorrow and I cannot wait to see what this week has in store for me!!
